Maintaining landscape in Sarsota has gotten much tougher since the water restrictions have been imposed.  Also our wells have been infiltrated by salt water because of the low water table, in fifteen years I’ve watched the water table plunge more than twenty feet.  This puts a huge strain on our water supply, and over watering or not conserving is the worst thing to do, try to install more drought tolerant plants in Sarasota, remove water consuming sod such as St. Augustine, installing more shade trees, filtered shade such as Cocoa nut trees, or Queen palms, Oak trees planted in the right spot can not only reduce water but help with electric bills in the summer.  Sarasota water conservation is in my opinion one of South west Floridas most important issues.  For more information visit watermatters.org
