Venice landscape maintenance this time of year is when you really have to keep a good eye on your landscape and turf in Venice. This warm and moist weather not only makes the grass grow rapidly, but promotes fungus and those hated chinch bugs. Keeping your lawn fertilized properly and applying pest control will help but thats not a guarantee. Here are some tips that will help you keep yur lawn looking good and pest free. first of all do not over irrigate, this promostes fungus and weeds such as dollar weed, watering one time per week applying 3/4″ to 1″ of water will keep your turf looking good, also turn off zones that only water plants, they will live off of mother nature. Remember no fertilizer in Sarasota starting June 1st through Sept. 31. Applying pest control should be done sparingly, only apply if needed and then only treat area that has insects present, moniter and re apply if needed.
