As you may have heard Sarasota fertilization code has changed for the better.  No more fertilizer applied from June 1 untill October 1, reason for this restriction is that the rain washes most of the fertilizer into our water ways, high nitrogen in fetilizer is devistatng our clean water.  I have installed a few fertigation systems in Venice the results are great, however turf seems to still have some problems, mostly weed control, well established lawns that have been cared for properly for years seem to handlw the hot weather far better than newly established lawns.  From Bradenton to Naples turf care, things are changing, and I highly suggest far less turf and more shade trees.  This will help us all in keeping our water ways clean and free of high nitrogen counts.
