Designing landscape in Sarasota has become such a great profession. Now that the public is becoming aware of our water shortages Nation Wide, professional landscape design has become all that more important. I can see in the next five years water consuming grasses such as St. Augustine are going to be phased out. Landscaping with tropicals and Natives will be of the norm. Here are a few plants that will survive in this climate without large amounts of water. Cardboard Palm, Coontie Palm, Flax Lilly, King Sago, Royal Palm, Asiatic Jasmine, there are a number of palms and plants available in Sarasota and Venice that will make any landscape beautiful. Just remember the design will make it all come together.
