Well here we are in the 7th year of drought in South West Florida. Sarasota landscape in drought has taken a beating, especially turf, and especially St. Augustine. Several tips on keeping your turf and landscape in good condition or atleast better than most other landscapes is getting your turf ready for drought by weaning it from so much water, making sure your Sarasota turf is fed by an EZ Flow fertigation system, this insures a little nutrient each time you water, this reduces water consumption by fifty percent, and there is no run off of high nitrogen count into our water ways. Also dont cut down shade trees, and if you dont have any plant some, strategicly placed shade trees can keep your turf alive in drought and reduce your water and fertilizer cost by fifty percent.
